In September, Shodocafe7557 welcomed two private groups for our Japanese Calligraphy Experience Tokyo program in Roppongi.

The first group included 19 guests, followed by 21 guests the next day, for a total of 40 participants over two days.

Guests enjoyed traditional Japanese calligraphy in a private group setting, together with a Japanese sake tasting experience.

Create Your Own Japanese Calligraphy Artwork

The experience began with an introduction to how to hold a Japanese calligraphy brush and use traditional brush techniques.

After practicing the basic strokes, each guest selected a favorite Kanji character and practiced several times before creating their final artwork.

Characters such as 幸 (Happiness) and 侍 (Samurai) were among the many unique choices made by the guests.

Every finished piece reflected the personality and creativity of its creator, making each work of calligraphy a truly personal souvenir from Japan.

For this special private group program, guests also enjoyed a Japanese sake tasting alongside their calligraphy experience.
