This time, 11 students joined us.
This group has visited us before, and this marked their third visit to our studio.

How the Calligraphy T-Shirt Experience Works

The experience begins with a basic introduction to Japanese calligraphy.

You will learn how to hold the brush, use ink, and write kanji on traditional Japanese calligraphy paper. After practicing several times, you can choose your favorite handwritten piece for your T-shirt.

We then digitize your calligraphy while preserving the natural shape, balance, brushstrokes, and ink texture of your writing.

You can also choose from Japanese-inspired designs such as koi fish, cherry blossoms, Mount Fuji, waves, traditional patterns, and Enso circles.

Your handwritten kanji and selected design are combined and printed onto a T-shirt, creating a completely original piece of wearable calligraphy art.

For their T-shirts, the two guests selected different kanji and Japanese designs.

One guest chose 「和」— Harmony, combined with a dynamic koi fish design.

The other selected 「真実」— Truth, placed inside a bold Enso circle.

Although both T-shirts were created during the same experience, each design reflected the guest’s individual handwriting and personality.

Even when two people write the same kanji, no two pieces of calligraphy are exactly alike. This makes every custom kanji T-shirt truly one of a kind.

Our First Guests to Use the New T-Shirt Printing Machine

This family became the first guests to create custom T-shirts using our newly installed T-shirt printing machine.

They watched as their own handwritten kanji was transformed into finished T-shirts. Seeing the original brushwork become wearable artwork made the experience especially memorable.

We were delighted to share this important first experience with them and to see their smiles when the completed T-shirts were revealed.

Add a Personalized Kanji Name Seal

The family also added our personalized kanji name seal, or hanko, option.

Each guest’s name was converted into carefully selected kanji with meaningful interpretations. The design was then engraved into an original Japanese name seal.
