Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How long does the hanko-making session take?
A. Once the design is fixed, carving takes about 30 minutes for a 24 mm square stamp and 20 minutes for a 12 mm mini stamp. Book at least a day in advance and you’ll receive a short video explaining the kanji chosen for your name.
Can I take the stamp home the same day?
A. Yes. Including carving and finishing, you’ll leave with your stamp and an ink pad within about one hour per person. While we carve, you can enjoy a short calligraphy activity. For private bookings or on busy days we’ll give you a pick-up time if you prefer to return later.
Can I choose any kanji I like?
A. Absolutely. We’ll suggest elegant kanji for your name in advance, or carve a specific character if you tell us when you book. We also explain each kanji’s meaning and stroke order.
Is English support available?
Yes. Our bilingual staff provide explanations and answer questions in English, so international guests can relax and enjoy the experience.
Do you accept online orders or shipping requests?
Yes. You can order online; we’ll carve once the design is confirmed and have it ready for in-store pick-up. Overseas shipping is handled case-by-case—please contact us for details.
Can I customize the stamp beyond the four standard styles?
Certainly. Custom sizes or designs are possible—just let us know your requirements when you book, and we’ll confirm feasibility before carving.
