We offer a hands-on Japanese calligraphy class in Roppongi, Tokyo.
Reservations are required
Enjoy an easy-going introduction to Japanese calligraphy, perfect for first-timers. You’ll start with basic brush techniques, then choose a single kanji character to create on a paper fan or hanging scroll. We’ll also render your reservation name in kanji, and you’ll receive a custom hiragana name stamp plus a souvenir set inspired by kanji culture. Immerse yourself in shodō and take home both your artwork and keepsakes!

Do I need any Japanese skills?
No. Our instructor writes the kanji outline for you and guides stroke order step-by-step.
Can children join?
Yes, ages 6 +. A guardian must accompany children under 10.

Is English support available?
Yes, our staff speaks English, and international guests are very welcome.
Please note that our workshops are currently available only for international visitors. We do not offer sessions for domestic (Japanese) guests at this time.
Can I keep the brush or ink?
Sorry, tools stay in the studio, but you may purchase a beginner brush kit on-site.
I’d like a longer session—possible?
Yes. We also offer our regular calligraphy course, which averages 90 minutes and lets you create a hanging scroll (kakejiku) to take home.
